Growing up, my Grandma LaPreal always ensured words were an avid part of my life, and it stuck. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from William Jessup University, and my dream was to work in Publishing while pursuing my own written work. God led me on a bit of a detour into ministry (Children's Events, Women's Events, and Communications/Marketing) through a local multi-site church, and I found myself eventually with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from North Park University.
While I've started and restarted many blogs throughout the last 12 years, I finally realized that my combined love for words and passion for/education on the intersection of faith, culture and the church gives great depth to the content I can share with you. My hope is that it challenges you to think differently, lean into God, and understand how to respond to your everyday conversations and worldly situations better.
I work and reside with my amazing husband and pup in Sacramento, CA. As a self-proclaimed multi-passionate leader, I dabble in many hobbies, and I'm certainly never bored. When I'm not blogging, writing newsletters, or future book projects, you'll likely find me recording a podcast, playing Animal Crossing, going on a walk with my mini-bernedoodle, exploring a new coffee shop with my husband, or catching up on a current favorite TV show. (The Rookie, Only Murders in the Building, Stranger Things, Yellowstone, and the occasional re-run of Gilmore Girls, Ted Lasso, New Girl, Friends, or Community).
